Day 1: Rishikesh → Ransi
Distance: ~210 km Drive Time: 8–10 hrs Altitude: 1,980 m Start early from Rishikesh and drive via Devprayag – Srinagar – Rudraprayag – Ukhimath – Ransi. Day 2: Ransi → Gaundhar → Bantoli → Madmaheshwar

The trail descends to Gaundhar village and then gradually climbs through forests, streams, and meadows via Bantoli. Reach Madmaheshwar Temple by evening and enjoy the serene Himalayan surroundings. May – June (Summer)
Pleasant weather and comfortable trekking conditions make this a good time to visit Madmaheshwar. The trails are generally clear, with beautiful green landscapes and clear mountain views.
September – November (Autumn)
One of the best seasons for the trek. The weather is cool and mostly clear, with excellent Himalayan views and dry trail conditions. Ideal for comfortable trekking and photography.
July – August (Monsoon)
The region receives heavy rainfall during monsoon. Trails can become slippery and muddy, with possible landslides and difficult road conditions. This period is generally less recommended for trekking.

Recommended Fitness Level
Madmaheshwar is a moderate-to-difficult trek with long uphill and downhill sections. Trekkers should be comfortable walking for around 5–7 hours a day on uneven mountain terrain. Prior trekking experience is helpful but not compulsory.
Walking & Running Preparation
Start preparing 3–4 weeks before the trek. Walk or jog for 30–45 minutes, 4–5 days a week. Gradually increase your distance and include stair climbing to improve stamina for uphill sections.
Strength & Endurance
Focus on squats, lunges, step-ups, calf raises and core exercises. Strong legs and good endurance will help you manage continuous climbs and descents more comfortably.
Acclimatisation & Pace
Maintain a slow and steady pace, especially on uphill sections. Take regular breaks, stay hydrated and allow your body to adjust to altitude. Avoid rushing and always follow the trek leader's instructions.
