Day 1
Day 1 – Rishikesh to Lohajung
Early morning departure from Rishikesh. Drive through Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Karnaprayag towards Lohajung. Reach Lohajung by evening and check in to your hotel/homestay. Stay: Hotel/Homestay Meals: Dinner

Day 2
Day 2 – Lohajung to Didna Village
Trek: Approx. 6–7 km | 4–5 hrs After breakfast, start the trek towards Didna Village. Walk through beautiful Himalayan forests and gradually gain altitude. Reach Didna and relax at the campsite/homestay. Stay: Camp/Homestay Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 3
Day 3 – Didna to Bedni Bugyal
Trek: Approx. 10–11 km | 6–7 hrs Start your trek after breakfast towards the magnificent Bedni Bugyal. The trail passes through forests and opens into vast alpine meadows. Enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Stay: Camp Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4
Day 4 – Bedni Bugyal to Patar Nachauni
Trek: Approx. 8–9 km | 5–6 hrs Enjoy the morning views of Bedni Bugyal and begin your trek towards Patar Nachauni. The trail gradually becomes more rugged as you gain altitude. Reach the campsite and rest for the next day's high-altitude section. Stay: Camp Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5
Day 5 – Patar Nachauni to Bhagwabasa
Trek: Approx. 6–7 km | 5–6 hrs After breakfast, climb towards Kalu Vinayak Temple and continue towards Bhagwabasa. The landscape changes dramatically as you enter the high-altitude zone. Spend the evening resting and preparing for the summit attempt. Stay: Camp Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 6
Day 6 – Bhagwabasa to Roopkund & Back
Summit Day: Approx. 10–12 km | 8–10+ hrs Start early in the morning for the most challenging day of the trek. Cross the rugged high-altitude terrain towards the Roopkund region. Depending on weather, snow, trail conditions and official permissions, continue towards the permitted viewpoint/area. After spending some time at the high point, descend back towards the lower campsite. Stay: Camp Meals: Breakfast, Packed Lunch & Dinner

Day 7
Day 7 – Bhagwabasa/Upper Camp to Wan & Lohajung
Trek: Approx. 12–15 km | 7–9 hrs After breakfast, begin the descent through the beautiful Himalayan landscape. Continue towards Wan Village through forest trails. From Wan, drive back to Lohajung and check in at the hotel. Stay: Hotel/Homestay Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 8 – Lohajung to Rishikesh
Drive: Approx. 9–11 hrs After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back towards Rishikesh. Enjoy the scenic mountain journey and reach Rishikesh by evening. Meals: Breakfast & Lunch Tour Ends at Rishikesh.

May – June (Summer)
Clear skies, pleasant daytime temperatures and snow-covered sections at higher altitudes. Ideal for trekkers looking for snow and panoramic Himalayan views.
September – October (Autumn)
Clear weather, excellent mountain visibility and beautiful green-to-golden landscapes. Ideal for photography and high-altitude trekking.
Monsoon – July to August
Heavy rainfall, slippery trails and difficult road conditions make this period unsuitable for the Roopkund Trek.
Fitness & preparation
What to be able to do before you join, and how to get there.
Recommended Fitness Level
Good physical fitness is required. You should be comfortable walking 6–8 km continuously and handling long uphill and downhill sections.
Walking & Running Preparation
Start training at least 4–6 weeks before the trek. Practice brisk walking, jogging and stair climbing for 45–60 minutes regularly.
Strength & Endurance
Focus on leg strength and stamina with squats, lunges, step-ups and regular cardio. Training with a backpack is recommended.
Acclimatisation & Experience
Roopkund is a high-altitude trek reaching around 15,700 ft. Proper acclimatisation is important. Previous trekking experience is recommended, especially for the high-altitude sections.

Altitude & Acclimatisation
Roopkund reaches around 15,700 ft. Trekkers should maintain a slow pace, stay hydrated and follow the guide’s acclimatisation instructions. If symptoms of altitude sickness appear, inform the guide immediately.
Trek Guide & Support
The trek is conducted with trained trek guides and support staff who assist participants throughout the route and monitor trekking conditions.
First Aid & Emergency Support
A basic first-aid kit and emergency oxygen support are carried during the trek. In case of a serious medical emergency, evacuation will be arranged according to the location, weather and available local resources.
Weather & Route Safety
The itinerary may be changed or shortened if weather, snow, trail conditions or government restrictions make the route unsafe. The guide’s safety instructions must be followed at all times.
